FromSoftware's success can't really be chalked up to just one entry in the series, though it does appear that certain platforms are more supportive.In figures provided by Famitsu (via NeoGAF), Dark Souls and Artorias of the Abyss top the list at over 5.59 million sales, while Dark Souls 2 and Scholar of the First Sin hit over 2.9 million sales, with some serious support from PC Runescape players. The 2009 release Demon's Souls and 2015's spinoff Bloodborne were not included in this figure.The Dark Souls franchise has always come off a bit more niche than most, but it's a niche that's 8.5 million strong, and internationally popular. Sorcerer King, a 4X strategy game from the developers of Elemental: War of Magic, the Galactic Civilization series, and more, will be released on July 16 for PC, Stardock announced today.In Sorcerer King, Runescape players choose from six different sovereigns: the wizard, the commander, the tyrant, the guardian, the priest, or the tinkerer. A custom sovereign is also an option for those that wish to get a little more creative with their Runescape player character.Set in a fantasy world where someone known as the Sorcerer King has begun to harness the magic of the world by destroying shards that contain this energy in an effort to become a god, Runescape players must build up an empire through story-driven quests, written by Cracked.com's Chris Bucholz, in a randomly generated map and grow strong enough to take on the Sorcerer King.the Runescape game is currently available through Early Access on Steam for $40 and, throughout its development, has seen several updates that have added new features and content.
