Description Important: The links in this guide are correct as to the best of our knowledge. It is your own responsibility to double check that clicked links look correct in your browser bar, and that any wallet you install on your computer is from a legitimate source. Note: Images can be clicked to see a larger version. If you're confused by any terms used, a glossary can be found here. First we need to set up a wallet to store the GameCredits you're about to buy. Go to the GameCredits official site. Scroll down until you find the wallet download section. Choose the download that works for your computer (for example, Win64 will work on a Windows 64-bit computer). Unzip the downloaded files and run the wallet installation file (for example, for a Windows 64-bit computer it will be called gamecredits-0.9.4-win64-setup.exe) Follow the on screen instructions to install the wallet. Once the wallet has finished installing, run it. Your wallet will begin synchronizing with the GameCredits blockchain. This can take some time. Thankfully you can still receive GameCredits to your wallet while you wait. But before we do that, let's encrypt your wallet with a passphrase and back it up. On the top menu click 'Settings' and then 'Encrypt wallet'. Input a passphrase that would be hard to guess (but which you won't forget!), Note: if you forget this passphrase you can possibly lose access to your coins. Once you're done, press 'OK' Now along the top menu click 'File' and then 'Backup wallet'. Give your wallet file an obvious name, such as 'my_gamecredits_wallet'. It's very important that you back this file up somewhere safe (think multiple external hard drives and/or USB drives that you put somewhere safe). Note: If anything happens to your computer this file would be how you restore your GameCredits wallet and coins. Now you're ready to get your coins. Click 'Receive' and then 'Request Payment'. You will be given an 'Address'. This is your wallet address which we'll be sending your coins to. Copy it down somewhere safe as we'll need it soon. Now we'll purchase the popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin, so that we can exchange it for GameCredits (if you already own Bitcoin you can skip ahead). Choose which Bitcoin exchange you'd like to use (by clicking on the logo), and the guide will continue.
