| Title | White Dr Dre Beats Graffiti Headphones - Black Friday | ||||
| Description | lululemon sale, In addition to being great design partners, they have been incredible mentors to me over that last eight years, and they have helped me to grow as a designer and as a leader. And thanks to the entire team at Beats for an amazing, rewarding journey. We wish them all the best for their next chapter.” If you're LeBron James, hell yes you can go home again. The playbook calls for high drama as the King returns to the Cleveland Cavaliers after four years and a pair of championships in Miami. And this stirring spot from R/GA for Powerbeats2 wireless headphones from Beats by Dre delivers.Intensity always runs high in this brand's sports-themed ads, but it's off the charts in "Re-established 2014," the campaign's 150-second centerpiece.A shirtless, extremely determined-looking James pumps iron in a gym that bears his name at St. Vincent-St. Mary, his high school in Akron, Ohio. Images of his beloved hometown and personal flashbacks flit past. All the while, Hozier's rock-gospel anthem "Take Me to Church" swells on the soundtrack. In a voiceover, James' mom Gloria says, "This is the city that raised you. I'm so proud of you. Welcome home, son." The clip is nearing 4 million YouTube views just two days after it was posted. It's a good time to make an ad with Serena Williams, and Beats by Dre has done a particularly good job of it. Hot off the tennis star's sixth U.S. michael kors black friday. Open win, her 18th major victory overall, the headphone brand is spotlighting the gym routine that helps her get so much crushing power on the court. It would be standard-fare fitness footage if not for the fact that it continues Beats by Dre's habit of creating ads that feel more like exceptionally shot, psychologically rich sports-themed music videos rather than commercials. In this case, the clip (from R/GA's London and Los Angeles offices) weaves in flashbacks to Williams's childhood in Compton, Calif., as she pushes through her workout, while the song "Black Unicorn" by 2 Chainz featuring Sunni Patterson plays. The track is a spectacular match, with beautiful lyrics about struggle and success. And that goes a long way to making the spot feel greater than the sum of its parts—packed with a inspiring storyline about an athlete at the top of her game, rewarding to listen to and watch—even if it is also loaded with product shots that demonstrate the value proposition.I'm in the market for a new pair of headphones, and I've been eyeballing the Beats By Dre Studios. I like a lot of bass in my music, but some people tell me they suck and are overpriced. Are they actually horrible, or are these people just snobby audiophiles who like to hate on popular headphones? Will I notice a difference?I tried Beats years ago, before my foray into headphones, and I thought they sounded awesome. Since then, I've tried numerous other headphones, and assumed that people hated Beats just because it was fashionable to do so. I assumed they were probably okay quality, but just overpriced due to the brand name. I recently tried a pair of Beats Studios again, and was shocked to find that I was wrong: they really aren't very good. The problem isn't that the Beats have too much bass. It's that they have too much low quality bass, and that their mids and treble are even worse. If you want to hear what Beats sound like, pull up your equalizer and ram the midbass frequencies up a bit. There's not nearly enough definition to make the bass sound good, it's just...loud and boomy. beats cyber monday, it drowns out nearly everything else in the music—which is probably okay, because the treble and mids sound like they're coming from inside a well. The Pro and Executive lines are supposed to be somewhat better than the Studios and Solos (I haven't tried them myself), but are still more expensive than they should be.Many audiophiles will tell you that you "shouldn't" be using a headphone with such emphasized bass. In my opinion, that's bull. Listen to whatever sounds good to you. But even if Beats sound good to you now, you'll be shocked when you hear something more high quality—for less money. That's right. We don't have to tell you that Beats are overpriced. When you buy a pair of Beats, you're paying for style and branding. If that's what you want, then go for it—we have no vested interest in what you wear on your head. But if you're looking for awesome sound, we have some headphones you might like better. So what should you buy instead? If you search around the internet, you'll find a lot of articles recommending a bunch of random high-end headphones, but we know that's not what you want. pandora black friday. You're looking for something specific: bass, and lots of it. You probably listen to a lot of hip hop or electronic music, and bass-heavy cans are going to make it sound awesome. Some of these headphones may be good for rock and pop, too, but those genres usually excel with a more balanced headphone. These are far from the only bassy headphones out there, but if you're considering Beats, these are some of the most oft-recommended replacements at a few different price points. I highly recommend you listen to a few before you run off and buy one (as my impressions and tastes will differ from yours), and you should also check out this giant thread at Head-Fi which has a ton of information on bass-heavy cans. And, of course, check out our headphone buying guide for other tips and info if you don't have a lot of experience with headphones. If you're looking for something on the cheaper end of the spectrum, check out our list of the best $20 headphones, too.HTC's Beats Audio deal is seeing its first fruits come forth with their Sensation update, the Sensation XE. It's sure to sound great; it even has its own pair of Beats by Dre headphones. On the inside, it's inherently the same phone as the original Sensation, just a bit better-fied. It's got a new 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor with a 8MP 1080p video camera. Yet they're still skinning with Android with Sense for no necessary reason. And no 4G. But it's gotten a nice black and red facelift. And having Beats under the hood for those optimized headphones certainly makes it stand out.For starters, the speakers on HTC phones and tablets are going to start sounding a lot better.ugg boots black friday sale has been partnering with HP for a few years already, putting some suped-up audio into their laptops, and they sound pretty damn good (for being laptops). Essentially HTC is going to try to corner the mobile device audio market by having better speakers than anyone else—an area where they're currently flailing. Their speakers have been pretty lousy at best, and Motorola has been blasting them off the soundstage. Now? Not so much.Well, it means they're going to have a lot more money to play with. More cash for R&D should translate to more innovation, if they spend it wisely. Beats, the brand, is owned by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, and they work with Monster to manufacture their branded hardware (headphones, speakers, etc). They'll continue to operate autonomously (so Monster will probably still be making the hardware unless they sink into hell), and they'll still be putting Beats into Chryslers cars and HP laptops. Beats will also enjoy greater exposure outside the audiophile world. Starting this fall, HTC's devices will have way better tunes (honestly it'd be hard for them not to). As more and more people are using phones as their primary listening device, the mobile music race is really going to heat up. HTC just made a $300M bid to win it. Beats has proven that they can pack big sound into small spaces and if they can successfully do it at the smartphone level then HTC will likely set a new aural bar that the competition's going to have to try at least try to match. Basically: the biggest winner is your ears. At the end of December, a PR agency representing Tim Tebow's new signature line of Soul brand headphones—model number SL300, $299.95 retail—emailed us to invite us to a CES event at which Tebow himself would be showcasing his headphones and "speaking with the media." The event was total bullshit. Just like celebrity headphones. The email invite said members of the press should arrive at 9 AM sharp. At 8:55, when I stepped off the elevator on the 31st floor of the Venetian hotel to walk to the suite in which the event was being held, I was greeted by a line of people snaking far down the hallway. I took my place in the line and waited, assuming that it wouldn't be long before all the media people assembled were led into a room to perform the strange 21st Century task of asking a middling football player questions about some expensive headphones with his name on them. north face jackets cyber monday. |
