Description A supernova is basically an exploding star and such an explosion tends to be the largest in space. A supernova occurs when a star has reached the very final stages of its evolution. Much like other celestial events, immense and massive amounts of energy are released when a supernova occurs. The energy that is produced upon the explosion of a star is 1,020 times as much as the energy that is released by the Sun per second. Fortunately for human beings, the Sun will not explode like stars. Since previous Air Jordan 31 colorways have been galaxy-themed too, so it is not surprising that this one is dubbed “Supernova.” As of now, a supernova cannot be seen in the Milky Way, but is visible in other galaxies. The explosion of stars has been seen in the Milky Way in the past, which are visible today as mere expanding clouds of gas where the stars had originally exploded. However, since back in 1050s, a supernova has never been seen in the Milky Way. In recent times, the brightest supernova was discovered in a galaxy near the Milky Way on February 23rd, 1987. The Hubble Space telescope and numerous other telescopes actually made it possible to observe this supernova. The most recent colorways of the Air Jordan 31 that sneakerheads reading this likely recall having viewed were the “Battle Grey” and the “Space Jam” ones. However, considering that the Air Jordan 31 was galaxy-themed when it had debuted, it is only natural for this silhouette to return to its roots. The color scheme of this latest “Supernova” iteration almost looks as if it draws inspiration from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Its gradient uppers appear to be dressed up in a combination of Bright Mango and Concord, somewhat bearing the feel and look of an exploding star. Not only is this the latest galaxy-themed Air Jordan 31, it also happens to be among Jordan Brand’s Jordan releases for the Holiday Season. In fact, this Air Jordan 31 arrives at retailers on Christmas Eve, December 24th, and it will retail at a price of $169.
