About me In the first buy cheap wow gold two parts of this series we talked about choosing a character class, equipping that character properly and making your equipment better. We will wind up this concluding article with the last type of gear modification and then move into how to prepare for a raid outing.

Adding enchants to your weapons and armor will increase your character's power just like gems will. Enchants need to be added to all of your gear in order to make yourself "raid ready." Check your class guides that I posted in part 1 to see which enchants should be placed on what. You can also check out some of the enchanting lists online here and here. I should also mention that there are some things that cannot be modified by an enchant like your helmet or shoulder armor. For these you will need to earn reputation with some of the game faction groups (there's a list here). Once you have done enough quests for some of these groups, you will have access to specific faction enchants (among other things). This will enable you to modify those left over pieces of gear. There is a concise discussion of how reputation works and some of the groups you may want to become friends with over here.

Your character is all ready to go and let's say that you've found a group to plunge into the depths of the newest dungeon with. When you show up for your raid there is a couple of things you will be expected to have with you. The first is reagents. Reagents will allow you to cast some group buffs and perform special abilities that are necessary during a raid. You are expected to have enough of these purchased in advance to last you throughout the entire raid. There is a Reagent Vendor in every major city. You are also expected to have a night's supply of buff food, flasks and potions. Buff food is game food that will increase your stats for a certain period of time. With the invention of the fish feast, Blizzard has provided a food that buffs all classes equally well. If you bring along enough of these everyone in the party will be fine. The buff from the fish feast lasts 60 minutes. Cooking is something everyone can learn. Flasks and potions are again items that your character imbibes to enhance your power. Flasks last even through death which is a great benefit while potions do not. You will have to level the Alchemy profession or buy these items from the Auction House. A fully buffed raid toon might look like this below. Notice all the extra symbols in the upper right hand corner by the minimap? Those are all his buffs.

The important thing is to come prepared. Read the online or published strategy guides. Knowledge is power. The most important attributes of a successful raider is to know what is coming and be able to survive it. You may not be able to always count on a heal from your friendly guild priest, so have your own personal backups whatever they may be. Prolonged and challenging boss fights require a mixture of physical dexterity, savvy ability use and above all, patience.
