Description Bag and accessories maker Yoshida & Co., Ltd.’s main label Porter has collaborated with Adidas Stan Smith fashion to create a minimal Stan Smith model to celebrate the Japanese company’s 80th anniversary. Made famous amongst Japanese streetwear circles thanks to their work with Hiroshi Fujiwara with the Head Porter line, Porter is no stranger to collaborations but this might be the first time the company has extended its collaborative arm to adidas. Featuring Porter’s signature black exterior and Indian Orange lining, the tongue also uses the nylon fabric synonymous with Porter’s Tanker range on the otherwise leather upper. Ever since the Adidas Stan Smith White Comfort name was registered back in 1949, the brand’s logo, like its shoes, has gone through its fair share of re-imaginings. Starting from something as simple as three parallel stripes, it’s hard to imagine just how much it has evolved until you see it all laid out in front of you. This latest release of the Stan Smith takes the Trefoil, in just about about every incarnation that has graced the silhouette, and coats the shoe in an all-over print, while managing to retain a sneaky three stripes (and then some!) thanks to the diagonal splices. Without question, there is no cleaner shoe in the sneaker game than the OG Adidas Stan Smith Core Black Supplier. With that crispy cocaine upper disrupted only by finely perforated striping and a colour hit on the back, it seems almost criminal to mess with Stan the Man. This latest release maintains the crisp with an off-white faux snakeskin upper, but gives it a new spin with a metallic plate in place on the heel.
