Jordan Brand capitalized on the demands of sneakerheads by releasing a plethora of colorways, collabs and updated iterations of past favorites. The most sought after Air Jordan silhouettes may have come from collabs with fashion labels. Supreme and Public School put their spin on the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 12, respectively, which spent more time being discussed online than they did on retail shelves. And although the collaboration with Carhartt and rap megastar Eminem on the Air Jordan 4 wasn’t mass released, it was still a shoe sneaker addicts dreamed of having in their collections. The Air Jordan 11 Low IE will always live in the shadow of the firs released Air Jordan 11 mid top model, but sometimes this silhouette just flat out gets overlooked. We made sure to include an IE on this list and looked no further than the original colorway. It was actually one of the most underrated releases of the year for Jordan Brand. Hatfield's favorite Jordan For Girls, and a perennial fan favorite, the 11s are one of the best, but the 10s are simply a better, more clean execution of the "dress sneaker" concept. Earlier this month, Nike announced the 30th rendition of the Air Jordan sneaker, an enduring icon of streetwear that played a major role in turning sports shoes from purely functional to a fashion statement. No surprise here. The annual holiday season release of the Air Jordan 11 Retro will pretty much always make any top sneakers of the year list, and 2015 is no exception. Paying homage to Michael Jordan’s historic 72-­win season with the Chicago Bulls in 1995-­96, the shoe gets dressed in a luxurious black leather upper with a unique textured­ yet­ smooth treatment to the traditionally patent leather paneling. Part “Bred” and part “Space Jam” this new look for the XI will surely go down as one of the best non-­OG colorways for the shoe ever.
